Like the architects of their eclectic land they created their debut album combining multiple genres. They managed to keep their own characteristics and sound that will take you from the roots of Queen influenced piano rock classic hit-making, to artistic journey of Muse like moments that will keep on singing in your head after the first listen of the album. In the times of many musical fusions between pop and rock, Giant Rev has its own clear vision of eclectic hit rock experience.
They created beautiful arrangements on each and every song from their debut and any of them could be a hit single. With its addictive radiation of exceptional song craft the album experience will take you to a fairyland of Disney like adventure where Elton John and Freddy Mercury jam Bon Jovi tunes. A journey with progressiveness of The Police, vitality of Radiohead, hit making side of Muse or grungy southern rock feel of The Black Crowes. The seriousness of compositions, musicianship and stylistic independence shows all 4 members are skilled in making hits..
Listening to the whole album will leave big impressions on a listener, it is a trip through nicely written and produced debut. The addictive classical orchestration and piano rock of Elton John/ Queen feeling with very personalized, charismatic vocals will let you think of many different memories that will take you decades back when music was a valuable thing and still good.
Meet Giant Rev
Pau, David, Norman and Jorge are veterans of Spanish music scene, all of them are active for over a decade, as members of different bands. Four years ago the never stoping and ever growing love of making music united them and Giant Rev was born.
Born and raised in Barcelona, Pau Sastre fell in love with music as a young teenager. After high school, he studied Architecture, then left to pursue a career in music. Following a classical training, he was awarded a scholarship for the renowned Berklee College of Music, Boston, USA, where he graduated with a joint degree in Jazz Composition, and Music Engineering and Production. He returned Spain to undertake work as music producer.
Pau has released three albums as a solo artist. His first album, Highly Addictive, was released in 2005, followed by As Good As We Can Be, in 2011. The third, Tan Bons Com Puguem Ser, followed in 2015, written in Catalan.
He has worked as a music producer with a long list of artists, as well as co-writing and arranging songs with some of Spain’s top artists. He owns his own recording studio, Dr. Hope Studios.
He lives with his wife in Sant Esteve Sesrovires, Barcelona.www.pausastre.com
David was born in Gijón (Asturias). Blown away by British artists like Clapton, Led Zeppelin or Queen he followed in his sister’s steps when she came with an old borrowed guitar to learn some chords. Everything changed after that, there was nothing so authentic and inspiring. Jimmy Page’s solo from “Stairway to heaven” became the wick that caught the flame.
At the age of 19, he left university to make a living out of music. A few months later he was touring with a professional band. But the road was not easy, and after getting a scholarship for Berklee College of Music, finally he could not attend due to financial issues. He moved to Barcelona and got a Degree in Jazz and Modern Music performance in Conservatori Superior de Música del Liceu.
“Hundreds of stages, thousands of miles and a lot of friends met doing what I meant to do. A different story in every show but the same feeling as the day I listened to Led Zeppelin for the first time.
I couldn’t do any other thing for a living. It’s all about real passion. I fall asleep and wake up surrounded by music. I wanted it to be like this”
Born in Buenos Aires (Argentina) in a working class family. His passion for music began at an early age. His life changed completely when he received Queen’s album “The game” in his 7th birthday and got fascinated with the British band. From that moment on, he became more interested in the music that his father and older sister listened to, making it his great pastime.
It was at the beginning of his teenage years when bands like Deep Purple, Iron Maiden or Black Sabbath reached him, and his taste went thru harder sounds. By that time he also got interested in drums, but it wasn’t until the age of 18 that he could put his hands on one kit. After finishing high school and thanks to the constant support of his parents he got deep into the study of his instrument with great teachers from Argentina and graduated from ITMC (Buenos Aires). At the same time he used to play with several bands with different styles, but he always felt fuller as a musician within Rock & Roll.
Years after and established as a professional musician in Buenos Aires he decided to move to Barcelona in 2002 and start from scratch. He joined Sol Lagarto the same year with whom recorded five studio albums and toured around Spain opening for bands like Whitesnake, Paul DiAnno (ex Iron Maiden), Sepultura, Hanoi Rocks, M-Clan, Quireboys, Fito y Fitipaldis among others. The band broke up in 2013.
In 2015 got a call from Pau and Jorge to join what would be Giant Rev and immediately accepted to be part of the project.

Jorge Carrasco was born in Buenos Aires (Argentina). His passion for music starts at early age due to his grandfather's influence. He played trumpet and was a music lover. Being a kid moved to Barcelona with his family and there starts to play guitar first and bass later.
Self-taught, he spends his youth through a multitude of bands of all styles. Later he works extensively as a sideman musician for different artists and bands thru the country.
In 2012 formed with Pau Sastre the seed of Giant Rev. During the last years Jorge and Pau have been moulding the sound of the band. With several changes in the line-up and many musicians going in and out, the arrival of Norman and then David closed the final alignment of the band.
Giant Rev is the chance to mix influences from modern rock bands like Muse, Foo Fighters or Biffy Clyro with classic bands like Queen in order to get their own signature sound.
